I am looking to buy a light meter for use in a photography studio, can you recommend one and a place to buy?

i am becoming a photography student so would like a reasonably priced one!!

  1. I have used the same Minolta multi-meter for over 15 years.  It offers all the features you will ever need both now and in the present:  Incident meter, flash meter, and with accessory, reflecting meter.  Sekonic offers one as well (around $250), but the price, when amortized over it's life will be one of the best investments you can make in photography.


  2. Either of these Minolta meters would be a good choice:

    Spot Meter F - can also be used as a flash meter

    Auto Meter IIIF - incident meter or flash meter

    I bought mine on eBay.

  3. This is the one my school recommended to us:

    Sekonic L-758DR Light Meter

    It costs about $500, but is well worth the price... it's one of those "long term investments"
