I am looking for something that I can run around town and possibly drive to a nearby town but that's all. Long distance driving I will rent a car.

  1. I bought a scooter on http://www.ivoog.com

    They are street legal.

They say the scooters are high quality and the one I bought seems very high quality to me!

They also come with free warranty and lifetime technical support.

  2. Hi Sassy,

This is a good question and I am glad you asked it.  Many people have this same question, but don't have the courage to ask it.

Generally speaking, a street legal scooter will be any gas scooter with a 50cc engine or bigger.  Most mopeds and regular gas scooters will meet this requirement.

As far as brands go, I suggest you stick with the best companies in the business since this is your first scooter.  The best are Honda, Yamaha, Vespa, Aprilia and Genuine Scooters Co.  Each of these companies have an established reputation for making quality gas scooters.

My recommendations from this point would depend on whether you feel you will need to take it on highways or not.  This is an important factor because most gas scooters are not made for highway use b/c they can't normally reach 70mph.

Therefore, if you will not be going on highways, you could opt for scooters with engines smaller than 250cc.  However, if you will need to take it on highways, I would suggest going with scooter engines at least 250cc or bigger.  Proably one of the most popular scooters around is the Honda Reflex 250cc.  For great scooters smaller than 250cc, there are a number of good ones.  Just stick with the brands I mentioned and you can't go wrong.

  3. You dont always need a valid license but it is always a good idea to check up on it, but since that has nothing at all to do with your question i will say there are a lot of scooters out there vespa is a huge name and also carries a larger price tag on it than a lot of other scooters, for instance the vespa LX50 sells for right around 3200 dollars (a new 2008 modle) while a vino125 sells for about 2700 dollars and at 96 mpg is just a better buy. my advice shop around paying more amost never means your getting more.

  4. Tango (its a three wheeler) Nice!!

  5. All i know is Vespa. Those are really really popular in europe. A vespa there is lik ea toyota here.

    Pros: gas is cheaper

you look pretty darn cool riding one

cons: where do you park the d**n thing? you gotta lock it with a chain

you can only go local with it. what about freeway?

    gotta purchase a helmet

you can't carry a lot of c**p in it.

you can only carry one more passenger with you

from the look of things... you might as well just use a bike!

a bike is healthier for you and the environment. and its the same size.

  6. you   can  see   this  site   www.lowestmall.com

  7. I've heard that vespa's are the best. But, remember that to drive you you need a valid driver's licence (And possible a motorcycle licence depending on which state you live in)

  8. How big do you want it. A 50cc is only good for running around town.

Kymco makes the Agility 50 which is about 2k out the door and gets over a 100+ per gallon. Kymco is rated highest in the world except for  Piaggio and Vespa they just cost a little less. But they are rated higher than all of the Japanese brand scooters.  All three of the scooters I have listed go from 50cc to 500cc. Make sure  you wear a helmet and take a MSF course.
