Sorry to say, but, Pet Stores generally get their pets from Puppy Mills.... just be careful...

I would try to find a reputable breeder first...

If you do go through a pet store... be sure to see the parents breeding papers.... should not be an issue, if the pet store is on the up and up.....

A pet store is the last place you'll want to get a dog, most are from puppy mills.

Check out a rescue in your area - some are breed specific.   You can try www.petfinder.com and then type in what type of dog you are looking for and how many miles you are willing to travel.

Don't shop, adopt!
