I am looking to buy my first pair of snowboard bindings. should a buy a low or high back to the bindings?

Question

Some people say that they like a low back and some say they like a high back. I like riding the whole moutain including the terrain parks and the trails. Which kind of binding should I buy high or low?

i'd go high backs. they feel great and supportive. i have a pair of burton cartels and i love them. added bonus they have a toe-cap strap. i've tried both high and lo and i just love the cartels. and they're crazy mismatched wintergreen set up this year is just down right insane.

A High back is probably better for you if you like to do everything. There arent much bindings with low backs except for the ones for women (compared to reg mens bindings) and like Burton actually has one called the Lo-back. You wouldnt want a low back unless its gonna be your 2nd pair of bindings used especially for park. Other than that, you should be fine anywhere with the high backs. Most park riders have high backs.

Definetly high back.  When i first started riding i used the ones you just step into.  It was a pain and i had no control whatsoever.  I tried a highback eventually and i fell in love.  They allow you to lean into turns and give you more control.  If you are looking for a good binding that opens and closes easily try burton.  Good luck

i would buy high bindings.  they give better ankle and leg support, which is good for terrain parks.  it also is better for general carving.  i recommend burton bindings.  you can get a great pair of them for a cheap price.  but definitely get a high binding.  low ones are meant more for mogel-loving people.  terrain parks= high bindings

High back would probably be better. You have much more control with a high back then a low back.  Your heel side turns will be easier and it also has more of a range when you adjust your forward lean.
