I am looking to do the CCNA but have very limited experience with regard to IT. Do you recommend I do this?

  1. everyone needs to start somewhere.  It's not an easy certification to get and whether you finish or not will depend on your level of commitment and dedication.  It also has a lot to do with the resources you have available to you.  If you don't have access to Cisco equipment to practice on, it may be more difficult.  good luck!


  2. CCNA is purely Cisco certification on how to use their switches and routers.

    If you want to get into IT, learn the OS first, and learn standard general Networking, Comptia has a few courses to help.

    It depends what part of IT you want to be in, Network management (CCNA), Network Admin ( Microsoft server MCP),  General Support ( XP or Vista MCP).

    CCNA comes as CBT too, so, if you must do that, you are better off doing it on your own 1st to help increase your knowledge on Networking before you pay or join any courses.
