  1. Although most if not all tattoo parlors have font books that you can look through, an easy way to find some fonts that you like is to just add them to your computer.

FontFreak is a great website with tons of fonts. You can download a whole bunch at a time, or just one by one. You can open up your computer's font folder, add the files, and then just open up Word and try some different styles out!

  2. Why don't you just play with the font on Microsoft Word. You won't to be able to get the full picture on anything on the internet only because it can't show how the font will look on the skin and the contours of your body can change how the font looks.

Your best bet is to ask the tattoo artist for their opinion. They will help you pick out a font that will last throughout time and one that you will like as well.

  3. i would try fonts.com

it lets you put in a sample text and see it in all the fonts they have available. then you can print the page and bring that to the shop to have them size it according to your design ideas.

other than that most sites require you to download the font and install it.

i have done that and have about a hundred cool fonts on my pc right now.

some i am strongly considering using for a tattoo or two on myself.

try some of the free ones. you can always uninstall when done with it.

    1001fonts.com

    freefonts.com

    fontfreak.com

    font.com

    simplythebest.net

  4. alot of tattoo shops have different fonts in the shop if you see one you like you can ask them to draw it for you so you can see it before you have it done

  5. Try your local tattoo studio for a selection of script. Every shop has one, usually in pieces... the public library has books of script, too. Enjoy your ink!

  6. You can type in the text at dafont.com

First pick whatever category you want to look at from the menu.

Right under the menu you should see the page numbers. Then right under that you should see a text box that says "custom preview" above it and then inside the etxt box it should say "type your text here".

Just type your daughter's name into that box and click submit (it's on the far right of that row).

  7. Personally, I've found that letting an artist write it in his own type of writing usually looks the coolest. It really depends on the type you have in mind. Some type of cursivey type of font? My tattoo artist writes free hand and can do a really nice cursive looking font. I think it looks cooler, because it's not so staged and layed out. Hard to explain. But when my mom got her tattoo, we went to a random tattoo shop and the artist claimed to have "bad hand writing" which I find quite scary considering he's an artist. Anyways, he had to copy cursive out of a book, and the tattoo turned out okay, but I think a custom font turns out better. I used to look up fonts too, but after seeing him have to copy word for word out of a book, I changed my mind. Just go to a shop and ask them about fonts and stuff. I'm sure they could give you samples and ideas. :) Hope I helped even though I rambled!
