To start with you should only pick a licensed and insured movers. on Craigslist there is a lot of people that offering a lot of services but they are not licensed or insured. I suggest you pick 3-4 movers and you should provide all of them with the same accurate information. ask them about hourly rate and what it include: such as how many movers, size of truck, if they charge for stairs, long carry, fuel or packing supplies. Ask them what is the miminimumours that they charge. Very important is to know a head of time form a payment and the time you need to pay. I would trust more a company that accept personal checks by the end of the job and not before delivery.

Try "Craigslist" for your area. TIP: when they ask how many rooms you have to move and if you don't have full/complete rooms of furniture, let them know that so you won't be charged for rooms with very little stuff. Good Luck!
