I am looking to invest $ 2000 ?

i have been in banking more than 15 years i like to try something else and invest 2000 if guaranteed with high income ? anywhere to start ?

Nothing is guaranteed. I wont say what to invest in, but will tell you to diversify. Dont put all you money in one basket. You might want to put half in mutual funds that represent the market, and the other half depending on you situation in a high yield cd. www.bankrate.com, and look for cd rates....

Make sure you have a long term view when investing.

If I were looking to just put some money somewhere, I would simply find some very high yielding dividend stocks and buy as many shares as I could. That way, you can build income and get a good return on your account as well. Even if  you later sell the stock, you will generate good income from the dividends that were later re-invested to buy more shares. You would also want to buy optionable stocks because , if you buy at least a 100 shares, you could sell the option, collect a premium, and get a higher price for your shares if they are uptrending at the time of sell. This may sound like french to you now, but it is one of the safest moves you could make. Talk to any broker about it and they will be glad to assist you.
