Can anyone help? I have experience as a Legal Secretary and have also studied law and have qualified as a Legal Executive. I have tried Splash Jamaica and Caribbeanonline but I am not sure if they deal with expatriats/work permits

  1. Do you have any contacts in Jamaica in the field.  Try them.   One of the best ways to find jobs is by word of mouth.  Ask your friends if they have any connections in Jamaica.

  2. email the british council in jamaica and let them know ur situation.... quite possibly the thing might be to come here and look for work.

If you want a list of law firms to call try googling for jamaica yellow pages online.  they will have lots of firms.  also try the large companies grace, digicel, cwj but really what u probably need is someone in jamaica looking for u

send me an email on this and i will see if this is possible... other than that.. u just have to look for companies in that directory and contact them.

  3. Look up the jamaican telephone directory online. I woudl recommend making a list of potential employers and either calling them (to inquire about employement oppurtunities), makign sure to tell them you are calling from the UK.

You can also refine your phone book info, with info from your friends and social contacts in jamaica or people who are actively in business with jamaica.

Try to identify areas in the legal proffesion that are 'busy' rather than merely visible (eg.. real estate vs. criminal). Some areas of law may be boring, but if what you want is a good-paying job, boring isnt a crime.

  4. Try this site

    http://www.caribbeanjobs.com/index.asp

  5. Email the head office.

Funny.....I have a aunt with the name Lorraine J. Her last name is James.... But she lives in Ajax, Canada and does not want to relocate to Jamaica,

  6. Finding a job in Jamaica might not be so easy because I believe that many Jamaicans have left their home land to seek opportunities elsewhere. Perhaps, you can check with

the Jamaican Embassy in London with your request.
