Me and a few of my friends are trying to rent a house, I have a criminal record of 3 misdemeanors (negligent driving 1st degree, malicious mischief and hit and run), would I still be able to rent a house? I also have bad credit and no real rental history, I make about 3,000 a month though, would I be denied from renting a house?

  1. I've never submitted to a criminal background check to rent a place, credit yes.

  2. Most landlords refuse applicants with drug, violent or s*x related crimes.

Your credit and lack of rental history are problems. The landlord can deny you for either of those.

Also, if you are applying with others, generally, all applicantsw must meet the landlord's criteria. If one applicant is denied, all other applicants are denied as well. You are applying as joint and several tenants.
