  1. Your gonna want a small drive gear and a larger drive gear on the axle. that would give you a lower gear ratio and you could pull more weight. As long as you can get enough traction.


  2. By reading your textbook and studying how gears work; by studying diagrams of engines, clocks, etc.; by riding a multi-gear bicycle.  It's a simple concept that anyone who drives, or intends to drive, a car should really understand.

    While you're at it, read a book on grammar.

  3. I actually have two answers, believe it or not.

    There's a company called "Serv-O-Link" that can do surprising things with inexpensive, lightweight, plastic gears.

    The other is, without seeing the specs, a cheat that a friend of mine used; you use the closed arm of the mouse trap to hold a model rocket engine. (Argument, it didn't say how you had to use the model to power the mouse trap.) The 6"dia. shipping tube caps you can grab at the post office make great wheels.

    Do some experimenting, have some fun.
