I am making a tropical theme dinner and i was wondering what type of drink i can serve that would be good... ?

some sort of fruit punch, pineapple might work well with a small amount of coconut essence added, and served really cold. i had this at a themed party once and it went down really great. adding some sort of alcohol (if u 18+ lol) may make it a bit more of a hit.

Of course you have to serve Orange juice but be sure you get watermelons. make the watermelons as your orange juice holder

I'd go with a Hurricane.   2-3 kinds of Rum (depending on how you make it) - very Caribbean.   Most people like them, including light drinkers because they are sweet enough to cover the alcohol taste.

Ok - this isn't gonna be cheap though. 16oz of rockstar guava(purple can)/ one shot of meyers rum/one shot of bananas 99. It tastes really good, and you only need one drink. The caffeine accelerates the alchohol, and the bananas 99 will do most people in. Maybe this is too much for a dinner. Oh well - I let the secret out.

Impress your guests by serving them classic daiquiri's! Not the kind that are served today, but the light cocktails that were enjoyed over a hundred years ago in Cuba.

Daiquiri

1 1/2 oz light rum

3/4 oz lime juice

1/4 oz sugar syrup

Pour the light rum, lime juice and sugar syrup into a shaker with ice cubes.

Shake well.

Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
