I am married my wife's maiden name is on house not our married name can this cause legal problems thanks ?

how much time and money will this cost and is there a rush to have both names on the house

  1. No it dosen't matter whose name it is in if you have lived together in the home for more than 12mths. (australia anyway)


  2. You should consult a Lawyer... I don't know if there are any legal ramifications regarding maiden name versus married name.  I would think there is not...but, to be safe, ask a Lawyer.

  3. Get legal advice, get it into the appropriate name, will stop problems from occuring.

  4. No. In essence she is still the same person and according to the credit bureau her married name and maiden name represent the same person. As long as her social security number is the same there is no difference. I used to work for a bank and I had to fight the credit bureau to get my twins credit history off. You tend to learn a lot.
