  1. You need to have a status in Canada---do you??  What is it??

    If you have a PR in process, you can go to the provincial heath care office and sign up.  Your spouse needs to be with you.  It will also depend what province you are in----some (like B.C) have a 90 day residence obligation.  

    If you could be more specific-I could be more specific........

    EDIT--you do not have to have your actual PR yet as long as it is being processed.  You just need to physically be in  Canada, be married and have a visitor visa or other temporary documentation.


  2. you need to have permanent residence status then go to your local health care office and apply

    some provinces have a waiting period
