We have been married for 08 years(mar 2000) and I have been living in Germany with my husband since Sept 2000.

He is an Austrian citizen, holding a German resident permit and he has been living & working in Germany for 15+ years.

Am I entitled to apply for German citizenship? I am a housewife, and not working in Germany. pls advise.

  1. Yes, after  years legal resdiency you may apply for German citizenship at your local Ausländerbehörde. You have to show that you are able to communicate in German, you have to be in a financial stable condition ( no social benefits allowed - in some regions they even trouble around if you receive Wohngeld )

  2. of course.
