  1. I shipped my car from Panama City Florida to Progreso Yucatan (and back) with Linea Peninsular. The car arrived no problem it was relatively hassle free.

    I was only temporarily importing the car for the winter though so I don't know if the same will hold true for you. The link to their site is below, they may be able to answer some questions for you.

I don't know about the safety of shipping it, but i think you would have legal problems.  You can ONLY take a car that is exactly 10 years old into Mexico with the law that is now in effect...so you must have a 1998 car.  Then you have to use a car broker at the border to do the paper work to register it temporarily so you may drive it into Mexico.  Then when you arrive in your city you need to go to the palacio municipal to register the car.  Idon't know how you could get it across the border if you are not there to register it. I also WOULD worry about it if it was turned over to someone else to take into the country.
