I plan on movin next may or so, and i was wondering what the climate was like during the summer and winter. Also how is employment, would it be easy for an american to get a job? I prefer working in eatery's and pubs and stuff like that.

  1. It rains and rains there! Great pubs, great people, great food! I found work there OK (office work). I'm Aussie. So you shouldn't have a prob getting work - quite a bit of variety... probably more so in the hospitality field!

LOL at the American who thinks it is Dublin in America. So cute!

  2. Dublin, Georgia is a hick town and is dirty and smells like beer.

Oh you mean Ireland? Well that's much cleaner and greener and smells more like whiskey!

  3. Very good. You will probably like it. Its hard to tell about the climate...i'd say "changeable". In winter its cold, it gets really cold in jan and feb, but not as cold as some other places in europe. It rains a lot, especially in autumn and spring, but also in summer and winter. We've had a heatwave this summer though, so we had loads of hot sunny days.

It should be easy enough for you to get a job in a pub or restaurant, there is loads of jobs. One thing to warn about is the cost of living, you'll probably need 2 pub/restaurant jobs to keep you afloat. Rent is really high (especially in the city centre) and stuff costs a lot, especially eating out, going out, public transport, clothes, shoes, cars....everything you need to live basically!

Check out www.daft.ie nearer to when you are moving, its great for finding house/flat shares and rentals.

  4. i live less than an hour away from Dublin (California, right?) and i think it is a great place to live. this year our weather was whacked; we had a lot of rain until june and then we had a heat wave that lasted two weeks straight. awful! but weve never had weather like that before and we shouldnt have it again, and i think you would really like it here.

are you from georgia, california, ireland, england, what? what? what???? im confused!!!!!!!

  5. Which Dublin?

There is also a Dublin, Ohio.

Have fun with what you do when you move.

  6. You'll find it very easy to get a job in Dublin. Ireland has almost one hundred percent employment at the moment. Most of our bars are staffed by travelers or eastern Europeans. You'll find the wages are very high aswell. I'd suggest you live on the south side of the city.

Things will be expensive though. Dublin is one of the most expensive cities in Europe.

The climate is mild in all seasons. It's quite wet, particularly during the winter.

PS: If you're buying a motorbike look outside Dublin. It'll be much cheaper.

  7. U2 left town years ago

  8. Enjoy the 7 course meal....6pak and a potato

  9. LIVED IN ENGLAND 4YRS

SO YES MAY IS STILL MILD

    GOOD WEATHER IN JUNE/JULY

    9 MONTHS OF RAIN THERE

PUBS AND RESTAURANTS ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR HELP

BEST PART - MEDICAL AND DENTAL VISITS ARE CHEAP FOR AMREICANS

    THEY HAVE NATIONAL HEALTH SYSTEM
