  1. There are no fluids in a plasma screen to mix or leak out.  Someone is having fun with you.

The issue with putting a plasma on it's back is, if the screen is not supported properly, it can crack.  They can be shipped horizontally, however I wouldn't trust the moving people to follow all the rules for doing so.

The BEST way to ship it is in it's original factory shipping container.  If you don't have that, then pack it with a lot of padding and mark the box "This Side Up" to keep the TV vertical.  That way you don't have to worry about the support issue or the movers stacking something on top of it.  Make sure you buy insurance, too.

    I hope this helps.

  2. There's no reason to keep a plasma upright-there's nothing to leak out. If you don't have the riginal packing, then I suggest you have it professionally packed. Many manufacturers require the TV to be shipped back for warranty service-so you should be able to find a place with experience to pack it for you.
