  1. Since you are in your 20s try to live in Wicker Park, Lincoln park, Downtown, or Lakeview because they have alot of clubs and bars plus nice neighborhoods.

  2. really watch were you move but just get into any place i lived kinda by wrigley field and there was always someone getting robbed or killed right by my house so i had to move back and later may move back up to chicago when i know i can afford $1200 per month rent

  3. First of all, calm down. No reason to be scared, especially if you do your research. Get books on Chicago, do web searches on Chicago, even visit it for a weekend if you can, just to get a feel for the city. Don' move here cold and let your first night in Chicago be your FIRST night in Chicago. It's a pretty cool city. A BIG city, but you'll be fine. If you're worried about crime, don't be. There's crime in Houston, right? (Hey, I watch "Cops"...). And you know there are neighborhoods in Houston that you don't go into to avoid crime, right? Well, it's the same thing here.  Not to say that you can't run into crime anywhere. Just have to learn to watch your back. We have a pretty good public transportation system here in Chicago, so you don't really need a car like you do in HOuston. We can have some pretty brutal winters, but if you dress warm, you can handle it. We have bars that stay open pretty much all night, museums, live theater, hot clubs, teams in every major sport, a great lakefront that you can lie on and check out the hotties, summer street fairs all over the place... like I said, a great city.

Stop worrying and get up here...

  4. you'll love it here!

i would suggest living in lincoln park area, because that area has a lot of diversity. its also a very nice place.

good luck and hope you have fun in chicago when you move here
