  1. We moved 2 years ago.  Our fish were very large, so we got large garbage/trash containers. In each we put a heavy contractor grade plastic trash bag. We used as much of the original pond water in each can as we could siphon out, filled the rest with treated tap water, and put 1 fish in each. Covered the cans, and started driving. If you think oxygen might be a issue for the long drive, they sell "bait keepers" at bait shops that you drop in the water, and it creates bubbles.

Important tip: Make sure the cans are on the truck before filling with water. 40 or more gallons are heavy...

  2. I worked in a Tropical Fish Hatchery and the way we shipped them out was we would put them in a big clear plastic bag and blow oxygen from a tank into the bag and tie up with a rubber band. Then we would put them in a box with an ice pack cuz there water in the tanks were 60 degrees all the time. Then we would make sure the bag was secure so it would bounce around then close up the box tight. The best then for u to do is go to the store and by one of those styrofoam coolers and basically pack them in that make sure u stuff it with newspaper around the ice packs and the bag.

  3. Fedex them.
