Question:

I am moving into an old home and the bathroom has a free-standing tub. How can I mount a shower head?

There is currently a "shower head on a hose," I'm not sure what the proper term for it is. It reminds me of the sprayer/hoses in sinks that can be pulled out to spray down dishes.

I'm thinking a vertical stand or a mount that attaches to the wall may be the way to go but I have no idea where to buy such a thing. Any advice?

  1. Check your local loews and home depot. I've seen them in some magazines. Might have to buy the entire faucet and pipe arrangement. Worse comes to worst you can tee the plumbing behind the tub and run a vertical pipe to mount a shower head.

  2. Those things are expensive.. Lowe's and Home Depot both have them. Here is one from Home Depot http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stor...

Maybe you can find one on closeout some where close to you... Sounds like a shop till you drop deal.... Good luck..

  3. This site sells showerhead configurations for ball-and-claw-type free standing tubs:

Kinda pricey....if you are handy or know a plumber, maybe you could have one built?

    Enjoy your new old home!
