I am moving from Chile, taking a bus to Ecuador, where I will live for a year. In order to get a VISA, I supposedly need proof of an already booked airline ticket a year in advance to show I am going back to the USA. But I plan on traveling by bus after my year is up. Anyone know about the VISA process in Ecuador?

  1. Depends where u from...most people don't need a visa for visiting up to 6months I think, and all you need to get it renewed is to cross the border for like 5 minutes.

    I'm not an experpt though

  2. you don't need a visa to enter Ecuador. Ecuador doesn't ask for visa to anybody and if you are going by land you will have no problem. you don't need to show nothing don't worry.

  3. strictly speaking you need a ticket out,but if you are on a u.s. passport it is unlikely anyone will ask to see it.
