  1. it's true, hot (really hot) in summer and cold in winter;

    about people i can tell you that generally toscans(people living in Tuscany) are really funny really friendly, always ready to joke..i love these guys!!!!!

    about cooking it depends on you, are you going to a family? in this way i think it's hard that you'll cook... if stay alone you can cook or go out, ask for delivery or taking out, or pre-cooked foods... as you prefer.

  2. The city is beautiful.  If you don't have a car try to find accomodations in the center as the suburbs have infrequent public transportation.  I live in Florence and I'm from Florida: except this year, the winters are humid and very cold.  In 24 years I have never lived in any place where it was over 65 degrees inside in winter (freezing cold to me).  People are courteous, few are friendly by Floridian standards. Summers are hot by Northern standards.  My father visited in July and almost always wore a sweater at night.

  3. Hi! Florence is a beautiful city, a must if you love middle ages and reinassance art and architecture. the region around it is full of great landscapes and small villages worth a visit too. VERY hot in the summer, cold in the winter. the city is packed with tourists, people living there are used to them, so they are usually friendly, but you can also find someone who doesn't like them. the bad thing is that life's expensive. Have a nice trip!

  4. hot in the summer and cool in the winter..

    italians are warm and friendly people

    florence is a beutiful city..

    in boca lupo.. divertirti

  5. hello I' from Italy and I don't speak english. Firenze  ÃƒÂƒÃ‚¨ una città bellissima, piena di passione e di amore e di arte.

  6. People friendly city beautiful but very hot in summer and very cold in winter

  7. You'll cook if you're there during August as it gets very hot indeed. It gets cold in winter too. I found the Florentines to be wonderful people. Just remember they take their art, religion and culture very seriously.

  8. ohhhh you lucky person!

    Florence is absolutely beautiful - I have travelled extensively in Italy and Florence is right there at the top of the list.

    Enjoy!

  9. You'll love it!  Florence is unique, charming, and historically important.

  10. Lucky you! Firenze or Florence is one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in Italy. By 'cook' you mean getting hot and bothered? Not unless you are working in the fields all day. Neither will you freeze if you have decent accommodation. The people are as friendly as any Italians can be, but friendly than in Rome or Venice.

    You should enjoy Tuscany - make sure you visit Siena too.
