  1. well, i'd suggest it over a car. but it can be fairly dangerous.

  2. I just read on article on this.... it talks exactly about American expats adapting to riding on scooters for a mode of transportation..

Good luck, could be dangerous if you don't have experience

  3. I would recommend you use the wonderful public transportation' network of Paris, instead of taking so much risk by driving a Scooter.

In Paris you can go EVERYWHERE by bus or subway.

  4. Oh how I envy you on going to Paris on business. Do you mind me asking what type of business are you in?

The scooters are a good idea but please by safe

  5. If you have never driven in Paris I would counsel against it. Parisian driving is... exotic. Scooters whiz by cars and are universally hated as they cut off everyone, other scooters included. Cars won't give way to them. And everyone is happily playing dead man bluff. You blink, you're dead. And cops are in ambush with their little notebooks. Add to that all the works done by the Green party when they held our mayor by the... ahem... short hair to make traffic worse that it was and you can understand why I would not recommend it.

Paris is well covered by bus and underground train, you are never more than 200 meters from an underground station. And you don't have to look for parking space. Better to use the public transport until you're used to Parisian traffic, then you can think about getting a scooter and a very expensive double armoured lock.

  6. you'll have absolutely no need for it, it will just be a hassle. public transportation is excellent in and around paris. if you want to  visit other parts of france you'll just need to hop on a train or rent a car.

  7. I'd make the decision after a few weeks.  See if public transportation will do the job.  Paris has a very good mass transit system.  If you were to get one, it would make sense if you had many kind of far trips, but not cross town ones.  For something cross town the subway would be better.

  8. Well it's nice but a little bit dangerous. The best way to move in paris is subway or bus.
