  1. Tulsa weather consists of hot summers(90s most of the summer, a few days over 100), cold winters (lows in the 20s most nights, some in the teens), and rainy-ish spring and fall in between.  One advantage of Tulsa is that it doesn't get hit with all the tornadoes that OKC gets.

It's hard to tell you about jobs there since I don't know what you do now, but energy is still a big sector and has helped carry Tulsa and the whole region further south into Texas through some of the recent economic trouble that other areas like the coasts are seeing more of.

The better major schools in Tulsa are the Union district in the south of the city, and the suburbs of Owasso, Jenks, and Broken Arrow.

  2. The weather is hot and rainy (the last couple of years) in the summer and pretty cold in the winter, but not many problems with road conditions when it snows. Oklahoma usually gets 2-3 heavy snows per year. I would go online and look in the classified section of one of the newspapers in Tulsa. You might call the chamber of commerce in Tulsa to see what the school districts are like. You might also schedule a meeting with the administration for a tour of the schools.

  3. I grew up in Tulsa, and now live in a Dallas suburb.

Tulsa has pretty warm summers, 90's, occasionally 100.  They do have 4 seasons. The first freeze comes late Oct. or early Nov. and you'll see snow several times during the winter, but not huge accumulations.

Tulsa, and all of Oklahoma actually, hasn't had a good job market since the days when it was the "oil capital".  Tulsa got worse when American Airlines moved it's maintenance to DFW, so good luck with that.

It's been a long time since I was in school in Tulsa, but as a teacher in Irving, TX., I've seen kids who come from Oklahoma, but not specifically from Tulsa, and they're behind the Irving schools.  I feel sure there are good schools however, in the suburbs like Jenks.

I hope you'll be happy there.
