I am moving to cairns in 7 weeks but have never been there im hearing different things.?

I love Cairns, it has the Great Barrier Reef and rain forests.  If you love the outdoors then this is the place for you.  Mind you it is hot and wet in Summer as it is in the tropics but other than that I can't see anything wrong with Cairns.  If I had to live someone else in Australia then this is the place for me.

Twenty years ago I went to Cairns and I loved it.  I went back last November and the part of the township I saw was full of tacky Asian souvenir shops.  What a disappointment as I had always loved the place.  But I am sure the locals are lovely and friendly and will be able to show you the amazing sites Cairns has to offer.
