  1. I've lived north of Perth all my life.

There's heaps of great places a short list where I think rent is reasonable.

    Doubleview, Greenwood, Duncraig, Jolimont

If you have a bit more money:

Wembley Downs, Churchlands, Subiaco, Wembley, Leedervile

A bit Further out but def worth a look.

Heathridge, (New area in) Clarkson, Joondalup, Kingsley, Woodvale

    Places to stay away from.

Balga (been getting better lately), Noranda, Tuart Hill, Westminster, Innaloo.

    I hope I help.

  2. ive never lived north of the river, so i dont know about northen suburbs

Murdoch is fantastic, takes like 15 minutes to get into perth on the new mandurah train line, and they run every 5 min in peak hour.

from perth station you can take a bus or train to royal perth i think.

Kardinya is nice, Bull Creek, Subiaco, Leeming, Como, Osbourne Park are very good too.
