  1. Every airline has that information, if you already have your ticket, go to your airline´s website.  That simple.  I have a friend that lives here part time and takes her dog back and forth to the States and I have never heard about quarantine.  But just look at the airline website or call them.

  2. Hi there. Good luck in your move.  As for the beetch goes, i'd throw her off a cliff or just leave her in some beach somewhere. she will do fine on her own.

  3. 50 lbs? I think hse definitely will go in the cargo area inside a properly sized kennel.  Call your airline to get the details, probably they require you send she to a vet for a shot(?)before the travel.

  4. I always travel to and from PR with my dog and all I ever need was a Vet letter explaining that she have all the vac on time and that is healthy nothing else. Never quarintine or anything. Actually now she is having a period in PR with my mom.

And to the other question yes after 25 pounds they need to go in a kennel in cargo.

  5. I dont know about shipping , But the animals usually have to be quarantined for 6 months I believe.

  6. See site below and scroll down to paragraph on "travelling to/from Puerto Rico."  There is a number to call if you have additional questions.  Your vet may have info too..and he/she should have the forms.  A dog  weighing 50 pounds will surely have to ride in cargo.  You will need to call your specific airline to ask  the details.

  7. Moved my Doberman via Delta airlines from Atlanta to Mexico.

First - Delta and Continental airlines have good info on thier websites.

Important stuff you need to know. Probabbly need your dog to get microchipped I think its in case he were to get loose while in Deltas custody.

Need a health cert, and a letter from Vet saying hes OK to fly. Health cert. must be within 30 days of flight and letter within like 10 days of flight.

Many airlines have temp. restrictions for when they will accepts pets and it getting hotter by the day.

Cargo is tricky...........Delta has pets first program which they treat as baggage BUT, I think the weight is what tips the scale to where he must be flown as cargo. My Dobe was 88lbs with crate and was cargo. Not every flight going daily to Mexico was a "cargo" flight so I had to make sure my flight was.

I HAD to have the Giant carrier as my Dobe is big. That was a hassle as the cage will only fit thru the cargo doors of a 757. So I had to have a 757 going to Mexico City and it had to be a cargo flight. What a hassle !!!!!  I f I did it you can too !!! Hopefully you can use a large cage and it will fit on pretty much all large planes ( 737 , 757 ect.).

Check out the web sites and do your homework as there is alot to do and know so it goes off without a hitch. Find the cargo location for your airline if hes going cargo because this is where you have to go day of flight , 4 hours early , to drop him off.
