I'm just not happy here. I'm going to move to Houston. I have a truck that gets HORRIBLE gas mileage, and it's just not worth it to bring. So I will be w/o car for a few months. I need to know if Houston has a good public transit. Is it just buses, or do they have trains? Is there anything I should be prepared for in Houston? I'm just very unhappy here and ready to blow this h**l hole!

Houston has a pretty well developed bus commuting system, but the light rail train only runs from downtown through the Medical Center district into South Houston.  There are plenty of housing options along the light rail, but you're pretty much stuck in the city.  If you want to get out of the city intot he burbs, the only way to get around is on buses.
