I am relocating soon to Mustang, Oklahoma and am needing to find a safe, healthy daycare or preschool for my 3 year old daughter. Or if you have any suggestions of good locations in Oklahoma City, around NW 63rd and Broadway Extension. Multiple references would be greatly appreciated! I am a single mother, so price range would also be a factor.

Thanks for your help!

  1. I am not from the area, but I am a preschool teacher with 13 years experience. First, look for the N.A.E.Y.C. accreditation. That is the National Association for the Education of Young Children. If they have that approval then the child to teacher ratio will be great as will the facilities. I would learn about the education level and experience of the teachers who will be with your daughter. Find out if staff switch around during the day or will one set of teachers be with her for most of her day. Read policy manuals before you commit. Gosh there is so much to consider. You must feel comfortable and understood by the staff. For nap times, she should be allowed her own blanket from home and a comfort item. If you qualify as low income, consider Head Start full day care. They have very very strict state and federal guidelines they must adhere to, much stricter than private centers. Good luck, and take your time!!!! Don't hesitate to remove her if you are unhappy with your first choice. Trust your mother-intuition!
