I am new at the whole wifi thing. At present anyone can access my internet, how do i lock it?

You need to access your router's settings. Usually by putting http:\\router IP addy into your web browser.

Now change the default name & passwrd of your router.

Set up your wifi to:

Not Broadcast SSID

Use MAC Fitering

use WPA for your protocol

Change the SSID name to a complex name.

Change your password to a complex password.

You can also turn down your antenna strength to decrease your range.

this is what is recomended for using WiFi in Remote access in a Enterprise Network. It does work. You could also set up to use WPA with preshared key. use a very complex preshared key and change it often.

you need to change the SSID settings this changes the way that the router broadcasts its ID, also you can change settings to encrypt its signal to make it impossible for someone to access your routers signal without a passcode
