It depends on what state your in in NYS we have whats called regents courses which are very very stupid IMO. Id recommend a backpack notebooks for 6-8 subjects depending on your teachers maybe a few pocket folders or a binder w/loose leaf paper. plenty of pens and pencils, the only super expensive things i can think of is a calculator for your math(wait to buy that until your teacher tells you which one)
