  1. I recommend Zuchero's for Italian food.  It's on Weston Rd a little south of the 401.  For French, I say La Petite France on Bloor a little east of Islington.

  2. Cafe Nervosa in Yorkville for a wonderful night out!  There are pix and write-ups on my BLOG: http://spaces.msn.com/TheTravelzine-Toro...

  3. There's a little 'hole in the wall' size Vietnamese restaurant on Sheppard just East of Midland in Scarborough. Order anything lemon grass -(it doesn't actually have lemon in it-that's just the name) and you will agree it's the best food on the planet although it has no ambiance and no view to speak of. Another suggestion is the Mandarin (buffet and grill) Restaurant at Eglinton and Birchmount. It's actually at the intersection on the North West Corner in a plaza across from 41 Division police station. Lots of ambiance and seats a few hundred people in several unique dining rooms. I go there so often they call to see if I'm okay if they haven't seen me for three or four days. lol Cuisine of course is primarily Chinese but you can get Canadian/American fare and on the weekends there's seafood -lobster etc sometimes even Coquille St. Jacques . btw shrimp is available in different dishes all week long.Another great place is Bombay Indian Cuisine (buffet) on Markham South of Ellesmere. And for spicy (hot) food Fredericks at Bellamy and Ellesmere is a treat for Malaysian and Indonesian cuisine. Memories of Japan tops the list and is located in Don Mills on Don mills road just North of Eglinton but South of Lawrence-be prepared to see some stunts and tricks by your own chef that are sure to entertain and amaze you. . But for a true taste experience plus ambiance the new Mongolian Grill cannot be beaten. It's located next door to Memories of Japan. You can choose from a nice buffet and/or select your raw ingredients and sauces/seasonings and vegetables and hand to one of the chefs at the round grill who will entertain you with their skills. For a steak dinner the Keg on progress and Markham is a good Canadian Restaurant. And for seafood no-one beats Red Lobster. The best one is the one at Markham and Ellesmere as the other one is near to Don Mills but situated next door to a funeral home and crematorium ...yuck For Italian cuisine check out Santos Place at Bellamy and Lawrence. Elegant restaurant but a bit pricey. For a more casual setting Swiss Chalet is a good one for chicken and ribs but the food quite frankly is nothing to write home about. Anybody could make better in their own kitchen with their eyes closed but the staff are superb I go to the one at Bellamy and Eglinton just because I like going where everyone knows me and what I like and treats me like family ☺ The staff all give me a hug and their faces light up when they see me lol Even the Managers come over and we exchange a few laughs about whatever. If you get to be a regular at any of these places they are extra nice to you and appreciate your business. LOL Anyway, Believe it or not -I'm a good cook. But we do like to eat out often-just for a change I guess. I've lived in Toronto for twenty years-I know my stuff! ☺

  4. Go to Wayne Gretzky's place.

  5. If you like to go to a club without all the problems you usually get these days I totally recommend Devil's Martini, downtown Toronto.

I was there a few years ago and loved it there.....Am going again in June this year for 3 weeks.

There are so many places to eat out at, I think you should buy a tourist guide that has reviews on the restaurant.

TIMEOUT magazine is a good publication.

    Have fun and good luck!

  6. check out this website, it has many great ideas as to where to dine/go out. you can search for restaurants based on your budget and taste buds :) a lot of the restaurants they have listed link you directly to the restaurants' websites where you can view photos and see the menu

  7. Pick up a copy of Toronto Life Magazine and an issue of NOW magazine.  They both give great suggestions and don't hesitate to tell you if a place sucks.

To hang out, go to Centre Island!  The ferry ride is fun and romantic, and there's lots to do there.  Beware the seagulls, though.  Or walk through St. Lawrence Market or Kensington Market.  There is lots to see and do in TO - I lived there for 35 years and still go back for visits.

  8. A couple of great places are Avli Restaurant on the Danforth if you like Greek food, and La Palette in Kensington Market if you like French food.
