When I tested the ph this morning it was almost a fuschia color; it appears to me to be off the chart high in +ph. The chem kit is from kem-tek.com. I put in a little -ph to try and balance it out and am running the filter non stop but I am now afraid I am just brewing 4,500 gal of poision. I just want to be sure my children and their friends will be safe while swimming. Thoughts? A quick reply would be much appreciated.

  1. after a few hours of children in the pool or beer drinking adults, the PH usually goes down on its own....some sand filter media help by removing the amonia by-products: http://www.swimming-pool-information.com...

  2. There is no problem with the kids swimming in the pool while

you try to correct your ph. Just start adding 2 oz of ph- with

the pump running, wait 2-3 hours and check again. (if it is still

off the chart now, you can start with 4oz, but then only two

after that). The kids being in the pool will actually help it mix

in faster than just with the pump. When I open my pool I have

just the opposite problem.....have to add ph+. I have gone

through 3 containers of it before. So just take your time and

all will be fine. Hope this helps.
