  1. Roman, although Hecate holds a very special place in my heart. Oh yeah. Egyptians rock too!!!

  2. greek, total fave of eris, hah, wait is she greek or roman?hm...

  3. Norse.

  4. I really like both Roman and Greek mythology. They're practically the same.

  5. Did you ever read Slavic myths and folklore?  Possibly since my ancestry is in Eastern Europe, I have a deep interest in it (I'm an Archaeology major focused on the area).  I love its obscurity and piecing together these shadowy myths into how ancient Slavs actually viewed the world.  Here are some handy Wikipedia links to get you started, and if you like the mythology, check out The Early Slavs by P.M. Barford, The Making of the Slavs by Florian Curta, and Bathouse at Midnight: An Historical Survey of Magic an Divination in Russia by W.F. Ryan.

  6. Umm kind of hard to explain like Europian like Ireland, England, and so on

  7. Celtic

I am of Irish and Scottish heritage.

Why can you not take the time to study mythology?  There are plenty of books in the library and at the bookstore.  I simply did some reading on the subject on the weekends that I had off from work, starting with the cultures that interested me most and moving on.

  8. I like both Greek and Roman mythology.  I am also of Scottish descent, and so any early medieval histories of the picts, gaels, or celts are of interest to me.  There is all sorts of reading material about it!  My favorite mythological figure, however, is ATALANTA.  She was a demi-goddess that was abandoned as a child because her father did not want a little girl but instead a little boy.  She was rescued by Artemis, and raised by the bears and the deer.  (Of course lol).  She grew to be a beautiful huntress, outrunning, outhunting, and outwitting every man she came across.  It was said that the only thing that could conquer her was true love, and so she would fall to none except the one she loved.  Isn't that cool?  Hippomenes was the lucky fellow. However, after Atalanta chose love over service to Artemis, I think Artemis turned she and her lover into lions as punishment.  That's alright though...they still had each other haha...and lions are a grand creature.  I can't remember whether Atalanta is greek or roman...i think greek.

Here's the entire story (there are many variations...some called Hippomenes instead Melanion:

  9. Mine is Norse mythology. I'm of Scandinavian descent. (Norwegian, Danish, German)

  10. Egyptian and Scandanavian!

  11. Greek and Roman are practically the same- greek gods were renamed by the Romans as not to sound Pagan. That being said, I love the Greek flavor of the names.

If you want to study the myths of Greece, read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. Riordan retells the myths with a modern flavor and uses even obscure myths to tell the tale.

  12. I like Irish folklore the best, mainly because I love reading about stories involving the fey, and because I am Irish.

  13. Roman baby!

Go Flora!, Goddess of spring, flowers, and other plant life!

  14. Roman and Greek are very similar, but I prefer Roman because Odin (the Roman equivalent of Zeus) is awesome.
