The Turkish international has been accused of aiming racist slurs at former Tottenham star Didier Zokora. However, the Turk has said that he would never do a thing like Suarez did
Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan and Newcastle United, Emre Belozoglu has insisted that he is not a racist and has said that throughout his career outside Turkey, he has been facing racial abuse while playing football.
Emre, who joined Fenerbahce in 2008 is currently surrounded by a racial controversy after the 31-year-old was accused by Ivory Coast international http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trabzonspor-c40759.
Initially, Emre admitted at stepping out of the line in the heat of the moment, but the midfielder now says that he never used the ‘N’ word towards Zokora.
Zokora said that he was surprised to hear these words from Emre who is also playing with Africans like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Moussa-Sow-c26939 and Yobo at Fenerbahce.
“We’re trying to get on with our jobs. What does the colour of our skin matter? Fans, FIFA, the press are all against racist sentiments,” said the midfielder who joined the club from Seville.
However, Emre refutes those claims by saying that he would never call anyone a n*****.
“Personally, I have been subjected to racist slurs like ‘dirty Turk’, or words aimed at my Muslim beliefs. You can ask the Altintop (Hamit and Halil) brothers about this.”
Emre went even as far as suggesting that he feels as if everyone is now comparing him to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231.
“Suarez called Evra “A dirty n***** four or five times. I’ve suddenly found myself in Suarez’ position. However, the exchange with Zokora only lasted one minute.”
However, despite pleading not guilty, Emre was slapped with a 2-game ban by the Turkish League. The panel found out that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Turkey-c3026 star made abusive and not racist slurs towards Didier Zokora.
Fenerbahce won that game 2-0 against Trabzonspor and are now just two points behind Galatasaray.
