I am not able to get the pictures off my cam. I have re-instaled the driver.?

When I hook in the usb the camera says USB MODE but the computer doesnt do anything. I have a vivitar vivicam3785... any help? Oh sometimes when I try to hook up it popps up with spare back up? Mean anything... Im running Xp

Get a USB SD card reader  to connect to your computer. This will enable you to mount the cameras SD card as a removable drive. You can then directly download your photos to your computer.
