I am not able to transfer my video data from my Sony handy cam video camera to computer.How to repair usb port

Using my Sony handycam camera i am not able to transfer my vedio data to computer to make vcd. When i connect the camera and computer through USB cable, it displays in my computer that "IT IS UNABLE TO FIND THE USB STREAM". and also it says, malfunctioned with USB port. How to get repaird this?

If you check the resolved answers you would see that you cannot transfer video via USB!! You need to transfer via iLink or firewire cable to the firewire port (presuming you have one) on your PC!!! Visit the Sony support site for tutorials & a MANUAL!! There is a whole section in the manual on how to transfer video step by step.

maybe your usb cable is damaged, buy a new one, but you have to bring your video cam with you so they can try if it will work normally.
