I am not against Indian cricket. But do you feel Indian cricketers are given so much of hype and overpaid

In a country which has problems like terrorism,poverty,communal violence is this necessary?

There are so many army men who give up their lives and it is unnoticed by everyone..

Do Indian cricketers who have won the world cup 25 yrs (I admit 20-20 champions they are) back deserve the respect and publicity in the country

Well firstly i agree with you if we take out yearly income of dhoni out we can pay 1000 soldiers fees for 2 years . But We cant totely ignore them imagine country without stuff like sports . That will lead us to small but majour fight running like Jammu now days . But ya there are allredy get overpaid like h**l

Guess what! It is the Indian public who have made them Demi-Gods and given them so much importance that from a measly pay, they have reached a good salary + perks, awards and now sponsors.

So who are we to complain about it. This is an age of Bollywood stars and Cricket Stars. Yes Stars. The crowd loves to see them.  Mere models are nowhere. I know some models who were wailing that their "area"  of jobs have been encroached by Film Stars and now Players.

Few like to see other Sports person on Media.

Cricket is now a sort of Status Symbol. IPL has promoted it further.

The only support is that it is not a desk or an office job. They are on the field away from home and family for months in all sort of climatic conditions with a pressure for a win from an entire Nation.

It is not the Tax payers money either. It is BCCI's from sponsors and all. So we have no say.

Yes they are over-hyped and over-paid.They cannot be compared to soldiers who gave lives for country.Their over-publicity has made other sports in India handicapped.It is high time that Indians wake up and stop hyping them as demi-gods.

I agree that they are overpaid & overhyped. But frankly speaking we the cricket lovers are responsible for this as if the viewership reduces drastically everything else will fall in place automatically

I also agree with you our cricketers except few are in glamourus world because of overpaid and earnings from ads.In their mind priority is Bollywood girls even while they are playing in fiels e.g. Youvi,Raina and like others.
