“I am not leaving my club” – Gareth Bale
The new sensational Premier League player Gareth Bale has recently accomplished things that many players dream of doing. While playing under one of the greatest coaches in England, Harry Redknapp, the Welshman has done wonders with the ball at his feet.
The young talented left footed Welsh star was actually appointed as a left back in Redknapp’s side but he later started to show where his real position was – a left midfielder. While performing for Tottenham Hotspurs, he helped the team reach the top 4 of
the Premier League which is simply phenomenal because in the past few years the top four were being dominated by the four most popular teams in England; Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal. However, last year, Hotspurs spent good amount of money
on buying players and bought themselves an impressive lot so that they could perform well and make a place in the top four.
The young Gareth Bale started to play like one of the best players in Hotspurs and his coach Harry Redknapp simply saw what talent the boy “possessed” and started to play him as a left midfielder. With the help of his left stronger foot and his amazingly
quick feet, he simply out ran a lot of full backs to help the team in scoring goals and to help the team in assisting.
The team started to perform extraordinary well and found their way in the top four as they won the last game against their rival club Manchester City who were also trying to find a way in the top 4. After defeating Roberto Mancini’s side, Tottenham Hotspurs
got a pass to be a part of the UEFA Champions League and the time for the English club to shine was there.
Harry Redknapp took his team to the group stages of the UEFA Champions League and became a part of one of the toughest groups of the European competition. Hotspurs were in the same group in which the former champions Inter Milan were situated along with
the German side Werder Bremen and the Dutch champions FC Twente.
The time for Gareth Bale to shine came during the match against Inter Milan in their home ground the San Siro. While performing on Italian soil, the English side found themselves a man down after their goalkeeper Gomez simply took Samuel Eto’o down to earn
himself a red card. It was simply expected that Inter Milan were to defeat Hotspurs and in the first half the score line was 4-0 for the Italian side.
In the second half, Gareth Bale shined more than any other player and by out running the Argentinean legend Javier Zenetti thrice, the Welshman got a hat-trick and was named as the man of the match even though his side lost the game. With the Italian team
coming to England for the return leg, Harry Redknapp’s men were ready to perform and it was Gareth Bale who was expected to do wonders again. This time round, Bale simply played phenomenal and by outrunning one of the world’s best full backs in the world,
Maicon; Gareth Bale helped the team by giving them two assists as he helped Peter Crouch and Pavlychenko tap in two goals for the North London club.
Gareth Bale, after performing amazingly during the European competition, was expected to leave Tottenham Hotspurs as teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City were all interested in buying the player. However, the Welsh star
simply told all the teams that he is not interested in joining any other club as he stated that he wants to stay in Tottenham Hotspurs and that is the club that he wants to play for.
