  1. One of my 1st cookbooks is the Joy of Cooking. However with the internet there are so many different ways to learn just type in to google simple cooking for beginners and it will  bring you to many many sites to help you with ideas. One of my recipes that is simple is a few lbs of boneless chicken,  in a bowl mix 1 can of crm of mushroom soup I prefer lite and a hlf of cup of sour cream, stir together pour over chicken and cook uncovered in the oven for about an hr ( if using a glass pan cook at 325 degrees) metal pan at 350 degrees. I put this over xtra wide yolk free noodles with a veggie and salad. Its a very fast meal to prepare.  This chicken receipe is my own.

  2. You need to spend some money!! Good Housekeeping Cook Book, Better Homes and Gardens Cook Book, something like one of those will make your life so much richer and cooking easier.

My absolute favorite is Better Homes and Gardens (the red plaid one). Mine is about 50 yrs old and one of my daughters wanted to trade me books when she got one from her grandmother. She said mine is marked with good recipes and changes to some. Well that is true! It is also almost unreadable in places where I have had it on the cabinet and spilled stuff on it in the past 50 years.

These are expensive but so worth it. They have menu suggestions in them as well as all the recipes and how to do even the most basic of kitchen tasks.

  3. Buffalo Chicken Dip

buy an already roasted chicken from supermarket

shred to pieces in a pot

add a bar of cream cheese

    stir

add one bottle of red hot sauce, medium sized bottle

    stir

add Marie's blue chucky cheese dressing (in the salad section)

    stir

add about 2 cups of shredder, any kind you prefer, mexican, cheddar, swiss, mozzarella, mild cheese, pepper jack,

Stir until cheese are combined and melted.

Pour into a baking pan and bake for about 10 min, at 350 degree or until golden brown on top.

Serve with any tortilla chips or food,

Prep time and cook time about 25 min.

  4. The best foods are the ones that do not over-process raw ingredients.

I don't care too much for French food, it's too complicated.

Unless you like to eat alot, I would stick to experimenting with salads, basic steaks and spices, breads, and soups.  This will take about 2 years to master.  Then move on from there.  You can pick up a cook book on each of these topics.

The other route is baking.  I think it takes too long.  I use to make a cheesecake a month for 3 years straight when I started cooking.  The only problem was, the girls I wanted to attract didn't eat fattening foods and the girls who loved my cooking were all fat.

BTW did yo know that average looking girls are more fun in bed than the typica Hot chicks at bars?

  5. i would narrow the main categories down to what you want

do you want drink recipees?  dessert recipees?  main entree recipees?  vegetarian recipees?

Then once you have that, try to get specific.  For example u pick desserts, u want pies, bakery items, etc.   Or for entrees, if you want entrees w/ chicken or w/ noodles, etc.  Then I would just type into google

    dessert chocolate pies recipee

    or

    chicken recipee

    Then search through the results

  6. cook book i use one and im only 14 and i get compliments all the time from my family members

  7. its very nice that you want to try cooking i hope you will like it , i have allot of ideas... i don't know what kind of food you like, here is some simples ideas for you:

  8. get a ready-made food packets and then boil it in water and take it

  9. go to food network.com and go to 30mintue meals by racheal ray

  10. 1. Scan through recipes and do all the weighing, cutting/slicing and preparing beforehand.

    2. Try google for some "jamie oliver" recipes. They tend to be simple yet seriously tasty

    3. Taste the food as you go along.

    4. Cook something YOU want to eat, it will make you more motivated, unless you are cooking for a gf/bf

    Have fun

  11. This is a real easy mean you should make tonite!!! Get chicken breast, wash em. Get two eggs, bread crumbs. In one bowl have the eggs mixed, in another bowl have have the bread crumbs. Dip the clean chicken in the egg first, then the bread crumb. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees, (make sure you put it on the bottom of your oven) Leave it in for about 20 minutes. And you can make spaghetti on the side. For chicken Parmesan! You can also fry the chicken on the stove with oil, to make it cook faster!

  12. There are many sites on the web. I started with RecipeZaar.com.  I still like it the best.

  13. what kind of food are you interessted in cooking??

  14. I am a big fan of paula deens cooking and kaft.com she gives easy to follow recipes that require regular household ingredients unlike many others that require mushrooms from france and what not check them out also try cambles.com as well

my best cooking advice is to clean as you go so there isnt such a mess later it also helps to pre cut and make some indridgents if you can and I cook some things at the same time to cut down on timing sometimes ill make my side dish and my start my diner at the same time

  15. These are all super easy and taste really good. They are my families favorite recipes and my family is very picky. You will be a great cook in no time. The recipe doesn't have to be hard to be good. Being a good cook is preparing a good, but not necessarily a difficult meal. Enjoy and Good Luck!

    Quick Chicken Parmesan

4 Boneless Chicken b*****s, pounded flat

1 jar Spaghetti Sauce (I use Prego mushroom and garlic)

    3 oz. Mozzarella Cheese, grated

    2 cups Italian Bread Crumbs

    2 oz. Parmesan Cheese

    1/2 tsp garlic salt

1 egg, plus 1 tbs water, slightly beaten

Mix Italian breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and garlic salt together in bowl. Beat 1 egg in another bowl, 1 tbs water and a dash of garlic salt. Dip chicken in egg, then in crumbs and fry in oil until brown on each side (10 – 15 min each side). Pour spaghetti sauce over chicken and sprinkle with cheese, cover so cheese melts and serve. Makes 4 servings.

    Serving Suggestions:

I serve this with Fettuccini Alfredo and garlic bread.

    Creamy Fettuccini Alfredo

1 – 8 oz. Package Philly Cream Cheese (I use the light version – 1/3 less fat), cubed

¾ cup (3 oz.) fresh grated Parmesan cheese (I like De Giorno, don’t use Kraft)

    ½ cup margarine (I use I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Light)

½ cup milk or half and half (I use 1% or 2% low fat)

8 oz. fettuccini, cooked, drained (I use the fresh Contadina low fat one)

In large saucepan, combine cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, margarine and milk.

Stir over low heat until smooth. Add to drained fettuccini and toss lightly. Sprinkle with fresh Parmesan cheese if desired. Makes 4 servings.

    Mushroom Chicken

    4 boneless or bone-in chicken b*****s

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1-8 oz container of sour cream (regular or light)

    2/3 cup sherry

    1 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)

    1 tsp garlic salt

    pepper to taste

Mix together everything but the chicken in a bowl. Pour half or the sauce in a casserole dish. Add chicken b*****s and top with remaining sauce. Bake at 350F for 1 hour.

Serving suggestions: Mashed potatoes with sauce as gravy or red potatoes, vegetable, and Hawaiian rolls. Can be made in crock pot. Add sauce to the pot then add the chicken, coat with remainder of sauce. Cook on low for 3-4 hours.

    Chicken Enchilada Casserole

1 – 1 ½ lb boneless chicken, cut into bite size chunks

1 can cream of mushroom soup

    1 - 8 oz carton sour cream

1 small can chopped Ortega green chiles

1 sml package flour tortillas, cut or torn in small pieces

8 oz jalapeno or regular jack cheese, grated

Cook chicken in skillet with a little water and ½ tsp garlic salt or powder, until no longer pink Remove and reserve.

In a bowl combine the next four ingredients, plus 6 oz of the cheese, add the chicken. Mix well and place in greased casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese and bake at

    350 F for 1 hour.

Serving suggestions: Mexicorn and Mexican rice

    Mexican Salsa Chicken

    1/3 cup flour

    1/8 tsp garlic powder

    1/8 tsp paprika

    1/8 tsp chili powder

4 boneless chicken b*****s, pounded flat

    3 tbs oil

    1 container fresh salsa

4 oz (1 cup) shredded Monterey Jack or Jalapeno Jack cheese

Combine first 4 ingredients in shallow dish or ziplock bag. Coat chicken with mixture. Heat oil large skillet over medium high heat. Cook chicken 3-4 minutes on each side or until lightly brown. Reduce heat and pour half the salsa into skillet and spoon some salsa over chicken, cover, simmer for 5 minutes. Add cheese on top of chicken and salsa. Cover until cheese melts. Makes 4 servings.

    Porcupine Balls

    1 egg

    ½ cup water

1 envelope lipton onion soup mix

1 ½ lbs lean ground beef

    ½ - ¾ cup uncooked minute rice

1 – 46 oz bottle of Campbell Tomato Juice

    1 tsp sugar

Beat egg slightly with water and 2 tbs soup mix. Mix lightly with beef and ¼ cup of rice. Shape into large meatballs (1 ½ to 2 inches). Roll in remaining rice, pressing it lightly into the meatball. Use more rice if needed.

Heat tomato juice to boiling. Stir in remaining onion soup mix and sugar. Place meatballs in sauce and cover. Simmer, stirring several times for 50 minutes.

Serving suggestions:  Great with a vegetable or salad and rolls.

    Sweet & Sour Meatballs

    1 lb ground beef

    1 tsp garlic salt
