  1. Find a non-denominational Church, there should be a minister/pastor there that would marry you.

  2. I know the Catholics probably won't do it. They require couples to take a short course of  married life classes. I suppose a lot of other faiths do something similar.

So it might be hard to get the clergy to perform the service without joining their sect.( at least for awhile) .  All you can do is keep asking people. I figure someone will just do the service for the money, but you never know. That's the funny thing about clergy, they tend to take symbolic stuff very seriously.

If you just like the church /chapel style of building you might try to hire one from a college.

I live in a Midwestern College town with a large state University. We have a nice little chapel on campus, that has that church feel, but it's state owned and can be leased for events. If you found something like that you could be married by a Justice of the peace.

Congrats to you and your loved one.

  3. I am sure that there are other people that know a good answer for this but here is a thought.  People who have religious weddings still need to have official paperwork done.  Perhaps you can get married through the court and then have a ceremonial wedding at a chapel and you can have anyone you want perform that ceremony.  If you love each other then your marriage is true in the eyes of God.

  4. k what some churches do is they rent the church, but not  rent the pastor, in which case you'll be having to rent your own pastor and the church seperately.

  5. Even if you find a non-denominational church where the minister will marry you, there is an ethical consideration. Most churches don't charge for weddings, or only charge a few hundred dollars. Do you really want to take advantage of the congregation paying for your wedding?
