Ok, so I just got an e-mail form fafsa that my school had all my information and they would notify me by mail. So I am assuming that means they will tell me how much I am awarded? Also what if I don't use the money for school this fall. Can I get another grant for the winter?

  1. The FAFSA only determines whether or not you are eligible to receive a Pell Grant. The school you intend to attend will tell you how much aid you will get. If you do get a Pell Grant, or any other grant or federal assistance, it will be sent straight to the school to cover your costs. If there's any money left after your school expenses are paid, they'll give you the remaining amount in the form of a check.

  2. If you don't use the money for school it will be returned back to the government by the school.  Yes, you can another another grant for the winter, you can apply for up to 6 grants if I remember correctly.
