I am not surprised that the ICC did not take an action against Dhoni, says Moin Khan – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammed-Aleem-c77512 Dar during the second Test of the four-match
series between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820.
The visitors, having lost the first encounter at Ahmedabad, bounced back and defeated the home team in the second fixture at Mumbai by 10 wickets to square the series 1-1.
Some of Dar’s decision in the match went against the Men in Blue, much to the disappointment of the Indian skipper, who did not hesitate in arguing with the ICC Elite Panel Umpire.
The ICC is usually very strict against players who question the decision of the umpires on the field; however, no action was taken against the wicketkeeper/batsman.
The former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 captain feels that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is extremely strong and the game’s governing body cannot afford to displease the Indian board, which generates a lot of revenue for the ICC.
“I am not at all surprised that the ICC has not reacted to the way Dhoni engaged in an argument with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aleem-Sarwar-Dar-c43094 during the series as the ICC can't afford to upset the powerful Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI),” Moin said.
Australia’s former cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672 also slammed some of Dar’s decision in the Mumbai Test and expressed that players get dropped after poor performances and same should be the case with officials.
Moin however, feels that any umpire can have a bad match but it does not mean that the captains start to question them on the field. The former wicketkeeper accused the Indian captain for not behaving well with the officials in past
as well.
“The way Dhoni questioned Aleem Dar's umpiring and argued with him it is unacceptable,” he added. “Dhoni has in the past also argued with umpires and got away with it.”
It must be noted that Aleem is considered to be one of the finest umpires of the history of the game, having won the ICC Umpire of the Year award three times in a row between 2009 and 2011.
