I am off on holiday to the states at the end of March and need to buy some dollars?

Can anyone tell me the best place to get these as I want to get the best possible exchange rate. Has anyone been recently and managed to get a good deal in the London area

Go to the bank.

Don't buy dollars in UK or Europe.  Bring your ATM card and get all you want and need when you get here.  The exchange is far better than anywhere else and much safer.

Don't do Thomas exchange. They don't give good rates. Go to the American Express office in London.

Take your Maestro card and get cash out when you need it in $'s from ATM's when you are over there. It's more convenient, more secure and you get a better rate.

the post office have a good rate and if you get over a certain amount it's even better.
