  1. It is a bit quick to go on holiday with someone.

You will not get much of a tan I am sorry to say.

    Anyway, all the best. Enjoy

  2. you are going . its a bit late to ask if it is too soon.

it can be cold. depends where in spain you are going.

it can be warm during the day. compared to uk. but it is very cold at night, and dont forget the sun goes down an hour earlier than here. take warm clothes as well as summer stuff.

sometimes there is torrential rain, but it doesnt last long.

  3. Have lived in Spain for over 4 years and this will be our 5th Christmas, this looks like being the first time that we will not being eating our lunch on the terrace!! Last year on boxing day we went to benidorm about 30 mins from where we live and the temp was 26 degrees. Just last Saturday it was 24 degrees but alas now its cold and wet. The good thing here though is that it does not get dark until 6.pm so we have much longer days

  4. Judging from Spanish TV, the weather there just now is not brilliant. The north is as cold as over here and even Andalucia is quite cold and wet. You might get more sun in the Canarias but not the best time of the year for tanning. But there's more than just the sun in Spain. They do celebrate Christmas with gusto! So enjoy the  local culture and feliz navidad.

  5. The Pyrenees and Valencia are in two different areas entirely. Not clear if you are going to both? Pyrenees are cold w/snow.  Valencia is a lot warmer it's farther south and on the coast. Could be as warm as 60 F 15 C or a little higher in Valencia,.

  6. Assuming he is truly Spanish, I would say it is absolutely too soon to meet his family.  That is HUGE!!  When a Spanish guy brings a girl to meet his family, it´s tantamount to an engagement.  You need to tell him to slow down.  That kind of thing is typical of controlling men, pressuring you into a permanent relationship this quickly.  And domestic violence is a big problem, there.  You want to take this VERY carefully.

Of course, if his family came from some other country, that doesn´t apply, though it might be too soon, anyway.  I wouldn´t do it.  Even for Spain.  Well, I guess that would depend on the guy, cause I just LOVE Spain.  Always have.  Some of my best times were spent there.   You should enjoy yourself.

Of course there is snow in the Pyrenees at this time of year!  Even Valencia will be around 0 C.  Tan?  Maybe on your face.  You might want to bring some sunscreen, but don´t expect "sunny Spain," like you are certainly imagining.  It warms up there pretty early in the year, and in many parts of Spain a "white Christmas" is an unknown concept, but it does get pretty cold.

  7. I live in the south of Spain. It´s raining (as I type) and it´s approximately 10 degrees celsius. There is rain forecast for the weekend and sunny next week but certainly won´t be tanning weather with expected highs of 15-16 degrees. If you are going to central or northern Spain expect it to be cold - very cold with snow in a lot of places.

Enjoy it anyway!! All the best!

  8. The biggest problem with Spain in the wintertime is that it is cold, as they seldom have central heating, so bring plenty of good woollen jumpers with you, we spent christmas and new year in Spain and we froze.

Came back with a flu that we are still trying to get rid of. (foreign strain )

I forgot to mention it , but Spanish people are very tolerant of foreigners to their country unlike where I live  (  Irlande del Norte ) My spanish is not great, but they were so appreciative of my attempts at having a go, unlike the French who don't like you to speak their language, unless you speak it very well.

  9. Nope. No tan. Jeez, I try avoiding the streets here in Andalucia since it's raining so hard! And that's the southernmost part...

Wonder what kind of weather they're having in Madrid, the weather says snow the 6th of January.

In Barcelona, it's humid, cold, etc...not the type of weather for going out to the beach and getting a "tan".

Go out for sightseeing, etc...that's really beautiful, but no beach. Except if you want to catch hypothermia ;)

    All the best!

  10. Not in the winter, in the winter it snows in spain, if you are lucky.

Normaly it should snow, it is warmer then UK or belgium but you dunnot have to expect to come back with a tan, therefor you should go while it is summer

  11. As to whether or not 6 weeks it not long enough to be travelling with a guy--- it depends on the guy.   Sometimes being with a guy 3 minutes is too long.

If he's taking you to meet his family ... you must be pretty special to him.  My s/o is Spanish.

As to the weather question... it depends where you are going.   If it's in the north ... it can get nippy.   If you are going to be on the Costa del Sol ... you are likely to get a tan.

At any rate .. .anywhere you go in Spain you will find a beautiful country and warm people.   It is absolutely gorgeous .....

You will enjoy every part of it.....

  12. i am in the pyrenees right now. yes it gets cold at night, but there has only been one cloudy day in the past 5 weeks. if you are heading to the snow, it may sound crazy, but a tan is definitely possible. i am waiting on tables and have to do so in a tshirt. i have tan lines on my arms. during the day its beautiful... just keep moving and the tan will take care of itself.

  13. yes its to soon to be holidaying with him and no you wont get a tan, i got spain regular as have property there and this time its just a few degrees warmer than it is here

    Have fun tho

  14. www.inm.es gives you the weather report

  15. I live in the area you are talking about, the weather was chilly last week but has now got very hot 32c, the forecast is hot and sunny for the next 3 weeks with a heatwave, max temp between 28-37c, min temp 22c.
