Hello I have been on Yaz for about 3 months now. I was suppose to take them everyday starting at 9am. Lately as in I guess the past month and a half I take them within the window of 9am-1pm. I start a new pack on Sundays and would get my period like the Thursday or Friday before I took my 1st pill on the following Sunday. I haven't gotten my period yet today is Saturday and I start my pills tomorrow??? Does anyone know what in the heck could be going on? I am engaged and we just relocated.

  1.      One of the top rules for taking birth control pills is to take it the same time every day. For instance, I take my YAZ at 10:30 PM. There have been a few nights I didn't hear my phone alarm, and took it at 11:00PM. That's not a big deal. A window of 4 hours can be a big deal, though. It can completely mess up the hormones/how you feel/your period, and there's a larger chance for you to become pregnant. I remember one time that I took my pill a few hours later that what my body was used to, and I actually started bleeding the next day! Powerful stuff!

First off, you'll want to set a recurring alarm EVERY DAY at the same time. Set a vibrate alarm on your phone if you're at work. Take the pill at the same time-no excuses. This should fix a lot of your problems.

It could also be that the pill is still relatively new to your body, and your body is not quite used to it yet. It took my body about 3 months on Yaz to get on a normal period schedule.  Even after being on it over a year, my period does sometimes come a little late/earlier than usual. You may want to take a cheapy pregnancy test JUST to make sure.

I hope these tips work for you, and your body gets back to normal soon. :o)
