  1. To add to what Jeannie said, the L-2 spouse of an L-1 can work if he/she applies for an EAD card.

The E-1/E-2 spouse of an E-1/E-2 can work if he/she applies for an EAD card.

    O-4's cannot work.

    M-2's cannot work.

    K's can work.

Dependents of an I cannot work.

    Q-3's cannot work.

    R-2's cannot work.

    O-3's cannot work.

    TD's cannot work.

Look at your I-94 to see which visa classification you are in. If you think you can work, apply for an EAD card using form I-765.

  2. Depends on the type of dependent visa. If F2 or H4, no cannot work.

If a J2, then requires USCIS permission to work.

  3. Hello

If you are here under a dependent visa, that's what it is, you are depending on your parents. This doesn't grant you a work permit.

You should contact USCIS for further assistance...

    Good Luck!

  4. I guess yes! also depends on how old are you and do you have a social security card?
