  1. extractions are usually covered by medical insurance

  2. OK, who is it that wants their teeth pulled?

In either case, you just work out a payment plan with the dentist.

  3. Dental insurance will cover pre-existing conditions but most will have a waiting period of 6 months for basic procedures. The cost of an extraction runs around $200 or less in my area. You'll need to figure which is more cost effective, paying cash or paying $45 per month for 6 months before the insurance kicks in. With insurance she'll pay around $40 for the extraction.

You can also check to see if there are any dental schools in your area.

  4. Do you have a free clinic in your area? Pulling teeth can be pretty inexpensive I had two wisdom teeth pulled for $250.

  5. Some discount programs offer very inexpensive dental policies.  You will need to check if they are available in your state.  Remember that they are discount programs, not insurance, so there will be out of pocket monies.  Check out www.MedicalAndDentalPlus.net for more information and to find providers in your area. Hopefully this will help your grandmother with her problem.  Good luck!
