I am on maternity leave. If I leave the country will this affect my benefits?

  1. It shouldn't have any effect, as long as it doesn't outlast your maternity leave. In other words, you should still be back at work on the date agreed with your employer.

    However, the only way to be completely sure is asking your Human Resources rep directly.

I cannot imagine that it would make any difference.  You could check with human resources at your employer's...but I believe it is none of their business where you rest and take care of your new baby...at home or in another location.  However...how long is your maternity leave?  November is still 3 months away! Maternity leave is usually 6 to 12 weeks.  Are you on paid leave, or leave without pay?
